vaio notebooks make several loud beeps when resuming from suspend

Bug Description
Hardy on a Vaio PCG V505DX notebook has almost complete hardware support, but one quirk is that on resuming from suspend about 7 loud beeps are made in quick succession, which is somewhat alarming. Muting sound prior to suspending prevents this problem.
