Bug Description

Binary package hint: ntfs-3g

Hi

I was accessing to NTFS drives already successfully under Ubuntu 7.x, but now I have an issue under 8.04.
My drive ("Exchange", an internal HDD) is from Linux only accessible after I opened it first time through the "Computer" link, which shows all drives. (Sorry, "Computer" is the German menu link, I don't know how the English menu translation for "Computer".)
If I don't do that, the Exchange drive is neither on the desktop (where it appears after I opened it through "Computer") nor accessible through "Places", where it is always but not accessible before I opened it through "Computer".
I have no clue what makes the difference, specifically what happens after I opened it through "Computer".

Any idea?

Sorry, it turned out that the the fstab was corrupted. Now it works - even though I have still noidea why it worked before the way I described it.
