Bug Description
When I've updated the kernel (linux-image) using either Synaptic, apt or the
Update Manager, my entire GRUB configuration file is lost.
I'm running a dual-boot setup and my /boot/grub/menu.lst contains entries to
other partitions. When updating linux-image, update-grub is called and searches
for available kernels. Only the normal kernel, safe mode and memtest are added
to the list. My old entries were discarded.
What's even worse is that the backup file /boot/grub/
to be exactly the same as the newly generated file and is thus rendered useless.
