Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution in Hardy -> Select import fom File menu -> select Import a single file -> File type is grayed out and cannot be selected. Tried to select a thunderbird mbox file from filename tag but evolution don't let me import it. Found in internet users with same problems but no solution so I report it.

thank you for your bug report, could you attach an mbox example to the bug? importing an mbox works correctly for me on hardy, maybe thunderbird doesn't use a correct mbox format which creates the issue?

Please take a look at the 4 screenshots I attach.
img1.jpg (Press import and select "Import a single file") click forward
img2.jpg (In the select file window file type is already grayed out and thunderbird file type cannot be selected), anyway I press filename and click forward
img3.jpg path to thunderbird mail directory, select Inbox (or Inbox.msf -- tried both) and click Open
img4.jpg File is selected but Forward button is grayed out and cannot continue.

are you sure that thunderbird use a correct mbox format to store mails?

Well no. I just googled a while and read that evolution should be able
to import thunderbird mails by default with the "Import" option. Anyway
why should the import options be grayed out from the beginning.?

the next button is not active because you didn't select something than can be imported, there is no need to go to next step if that's only to display an error about the format you try to import there

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click Import
2. Follow Steps
3. No Thunderbird found

Actual results:
No program found

Expected results:
Thunderbird Imported.

Additional info: Have been using tb while bug-hunting Evo, lots of filters in t\b.
Importing would be good as tb\evo often used on Fedora.

Moving this upstream, it would be really better to have such thing in upstream version, than in Fedora version only. The bug I found partially fit to this, I believe extending it to general import from tb would appreciate that reporter too, as he mentioned it there as well.

This bug no longer exists with Evolution 2.30.3. Evolution correctly identifies the file as a Berkeley Mailbox format.
