No grayscale printing option

Bug Description

On Ubuntu 8.04. i have installed Canon pixmia1000 printer. I do not see anywhere a grayscale printing option!

i guess, that option is missing in the printer driver.

Which printer driver are you using? Please post the output of the following command on a terminal:
$ cat /etc/cups/ppd/<printername>.ppd | grep '*NickName'
Don't forget to replace printername.

i converted this driver from an rpm package using instructions on page http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=49954
I didn't find any other drivers working with this printer.

That's a driver provided by Canon.
Not a bug in Ubuntu, converting to a question.
If the driver doesn't offer you a grayscale printing option, please report this to Canon.
