pidgin crashes on load

Binary package hint: pidgin

When I start up pidgin, it loads my aim buddy list (my only account) and then crashes. I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu with pidgin 1.2.4.1-ubuntu. If i need to add more information, please let me know.
