I' ve this bug on starting ubuntu live cd 8.04 on my fujitsu siemens laptop: bios bug #81[49435000] found

what shall I do? which parms as boot options are to set?

I tried
# echo -n mem > /sys/power/state

after resuming the graphics in X Window was completely broken, so I switched to 1st console and found these messages:

..MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
PCI: BIOS BUG #81[49435000] found

After switching back to X Window everything seems to be running fine.

My system is up-to-date 8.04.1 on Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo P5615

Then I tried both Suspend and Hibernate from GNOME shutdown menu and both work, although there are error messages, too.

my dmesg is attached; events are in following order:
# echo -n mem > /sys/power/state
GNOME Suspend
GNOME Hibernate

Reproducible on 8.10, same machine.
