Bug Description

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose

OS: Ubuntu Hardy / 8.04 (compiz fusion, nvidia restricted drivers, widescreen)
Guest: Windows XP

Couldn't find a similar bug logged.

When the guest is *just* booting (right before it displays the XP loading logo) switching to fullscreen (right cntrl+f) causes X to completely restart, just as if you had pressed control+alt+backspace, terminating all running applications and after a short while displaying GDM again.

I can't see anything obvious in the logs, and it is easily reproducible. It's probably not guest-dependent, included just in case.

Just a quick update,

After apt-get dist-update virtualbox-ose-modules was upgraded, this has reduced the severity of the issue, it now just crashes emerald:

kernel: [170489.980405] emerald[6715]: segfault at 4 rip 7f2c4f007a71 rsp 7fff59353210 error 4

Other info absent-mindedly missed off:

Linux version 2.6.24-16-generic (buildd@yellow) (gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 12:47:45 UTC 2008
emerald: emerald version 0.7.2

I'll wander over and see if this is actually an emerald issue as well.
