Bug Description

When plugging-in my iRiver player (USB) which has been set-up to work as a
storage device, I am having the following problem. I find that when I try to
write to it, it is mounted read only. Here is the part of my /var/log/syslog
that seems relavant. I'm not sure where the problem really originates (I just
guessed hotplug). Am an running an breezy system that is fully syched-up as of
this morning (10am EDT), but haven't yet rebooted to the new kernel. I had the
same problem yesterday, but it has been working within the previous week.

Sorry UTF-8 wasn't the problem. I misread the error log. Reformatted the
iRiver and it worked again.
