Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Please answer these questions:
Which flash package do you have installed?
Which Java package do you have installed?
Which Firefox extensions do you have installed?

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Flash:
    File name: libflashplayer.so
    Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124

Java:
    File name: gcjwebplugin.so
The GCJ Web Browser Plugin (using IcedTea) executes Java applets.

Extensions:
I have a ton of extensions installed in my main Firefox profile, but I was able to reproduce this in a clean Firefox profile that contained only the default extensions Ubuntu installs:
  - Firefox (eb-GB)
  - Firefox (es-AR)
  - Firefox (es-ES)
  - Xulrunner (en-GB)
  - Xulrunner (es-AR)
  - Xulrunner (es-ES)

Sorry, just noticed that the Java info I copied and pasted didn't contain version info. about:plugins says it is 1.0.

Please attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and your /var/log/Xorg.0.log to

Also no "font customizations" that I know of.

I've added some fonts of my own, but they are not in use in Firefox.

According to the "About" pane (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008050509 Firefox/3.0b5), I am using en-US. That said, it does not show up as a language under Firefox's Language Add-ons, nor do I see a mozilla-firefox-locale-* package for en-US.

This continues to be a problem in rc1, even with a fresh profile.

This continues to be a problem in Firefox 3.0.1.

Unchecking "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" in Firefox preferences "fixes" this, but of course, that is not a real solution.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.
