Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I'm using 3.0 on Hardy.

When you enter some text on the URL bar and open one item from the dropdown list to a new tab, the result differs depending on the method you follow:

-If you press alt+enter, the focus is given back to the page itself so pressing down scrolls down the page.
-If you middle-click the item, the URL bar retains the focus so pressing down just brings the dropdown list again.

Of course, you can only notice it after returning to the OLD tab. In the newly created tab the page always has the focus.

Could you also outline what the expected behaviour is? I dont see
anything really wrong for now.

After entering text in the url bar and validating (middle-clicking the "go" button, middle-clicking a dropdown item or pressing alt+intro) the focus should ALWAYS return from the URL bar to the page.

Now it does if you use alt+intro, but it doesn't if you use either of the other methods, which is a consistency problem.

Probably an upstream issue. Before we procede, please verify that this
is still the case in ffox 3 RC1 available in hardy-proposed

 affects ubuntu/firefox-3.0
 status incomplete

In the meantime a look at bugzilla.mozilla.org searching if that bug
is already known might be a good thing to do now.

I just checked and it still happens with RC1. As for a similar bug, I don't seem to see any.
