Bug Description

When Pulse Audio is set as output plugin in Audacious, it does not play wav files correctly. The files are played, but the output is "gapped". The same files are played OK if output plugin is set to alsa.

The type shown for wav file I tried to play was Microsoft WAV (signed 16 bit).

My sound card is detected by device manager as:
Model: 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller
Vendor: Intel Corporation (Hewlett-Packard Company)
Connection: PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect)

Hi, mcas,

The version of Ubuntu I use is Hardy (8.04). The issue occured from the beginning (when I installed Hardy). Currently, the version are:
audacious: 1.5.0 (package: 1.5.0-2ubuntu2~hardy1)
audacious-plugins package: 1.5.0-1ubuntu1
audacious-plugins-extra package: 1.5.0-1ubuntu1

pulse audio packages: 0.9.10-1ubuntu1

These are the latest versions in repositories now, but, as I stated before, the issue occurs since installation of Hardy Heron.

Regards,
grzegorz

Its audicious problem. Gstreamer and mhWaveEdit play WAV without stuttering.
Please merge together with N 234004

This is still happening in Jaunty. PulseAudio selected in Audacious, buffer size changed to everything from 200ms to 3000ms with no effect. Only with .wav files; FLACs work just fine.

Guess there's no edit button. Audacious version is 1.5.1, and the same wav files work if output is set to ALSA.

I have the same issue with Jaunty *and* Karmic.

Here is the packages list for my Karmic install :

audacious 2.1-1ubuntu1
audacious-plugins 2.1-1ubuntu1
audacious-plugins-extra 2.1-1ubuntu1
pulseaudio 1:0.9.16~test6-3-g57e1-0ubuntu2

The ALSA Output Plugin (-ng) goes just fine.

The same problem occurs with my both of my sound cards :
- E-MU 0404 USB 2.0
- Intel 82801I (ICH9 family) HD Audio Controller

The "sndfile" plugin that is based on libsndfile? If so, it's broken and would need a fix as found in Fedora 12.
