Bug Description
This a new bug I find in Hardy but not in Gutsy. XFCE4 proceeds to the desktop when logging in the first time using GDM. Once the user logs out and any user tries to login again to his/her xfce4 session, it stops to proceed after the GDM and just shows a blue screen and the XFCE4 splash screen / mouse is not shown. cntr-alt-bs helps in restarting X but one cannot yet get into a xfce4 session. A similar report can be found in here..

Fortunately for that bug reporter, logging in and out of Gnome solves the issue, but in my case only a reboot solves it. I think this is a issue with xfce4.4.2 ( I remember to have built the same under gutsy and had such issues sporadically. As the lastest greates version of XFCE was not available in gutsy repos, I had to compile them and attributed the aperiodicity of login failures to my own configuration errors. ). This is really annoying
