Bookmarks lost upon firefox crash

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

1) Save a new bookmark
2) Browse normally
3) Kill Firefox

The saved bookmark will be lost. This should not be happening, it should write the bookmarks to disk right away so they are not lost on a crash or power outage.

I was unable to reproduce this crash. I bookmarked a page, and immediately killed firefox, and the bookmark remained.

Try terminating your X session with ctr-alt backspace

before we look further ... anyone can reproduce this with RC1?

Actually Firefox will not save bookmarks period.

i attached a ogg video screen-capture.

- You will see me bookmarking the bugs website
- i will see the bookmark in recent bookmarks and in unsorted bookmarks
- i will exit firefox safely
- i will open it again and the bookmark will be lost

Just updated to the newest RC and it works again!

ok, let us know if it reappears. in case it starts again, also look in
tools -> error console - maybe there is something visible there.

I keep losing all bookmarks --- every time i 'force kill' ffox. It is annoying, but a temp. workaround is that i keep a bakup copy of a 'good' profile, that i can simply copy over in case ffox ruins it!

Firefox 3 final is in hardy. Please update to the latest and let us
know if you still see this.

It has happened to me all week. I have now lost 10 years worth of Bookmarks. Does anyone have a fix for this serious problem?
