Bug Description

Binary package hint: xkbutils

Can't load pashto afghan keyboard layout:

when KDE's tool to switch keyboard layout failed I tried using the command-line tool:

pascal@pascal-t61:~$ setxkbmap -v ps_af
Warning! Multiple definitions of keyboard layout
         Using command line, ignoring X server
Trying to build keymap using the following components:
keycodes: xfree86+aliases(qwerty)

Same here, for a fresh install of Ubuntu Hardy 32 bit. Very easy to replicate - just install Hardy afresh and run the command!

Even though this bug is older, I've marked it as a duplicate of bug #260647 because that bug has a patch for Hardy.
