Bug Description
In gnome I can use customized icons for some desktop icons, for example the
computer icon. But other references to this
(for example the computer link in places) doesn't use this icon.
I think this is a bug since it should be consisten. This doesn't happen just
with the panel but also in nautilus' windows since they don't show custom icons.
This happens with all desktop icons customized.
To customize an icon you must right click in the icon you want to change &
select properties. Then select a custom icon, the desktop icon will change but
nowhere else.

Thanks for your comments. From which to which icon theme are you switching?
Which version of Ubuntu do you use? Did you check that the themes in question do
have customized icons for the examples you referred to?
