Bug Description

Since I started using mythbuntu 8.04 I have a very unstable wireless connection.
I have a usb dongle netgear WG111 v2. And it used to work fine.

The wireless connection is activated but may fail when it is used.
If I reconnect it may work for a couple of seconds and then stop working.
In the network manager, however, everything seems normal.

Extra information:
Ubuntu 8.04; Release 8.04

The wireless driver = rtl8187

i confirm this bug. netgear wg111v2 onn gutsy and hardy, both 32 bit and 64 bit. there's not a 64 bit driver so i must use a 32 bit ubuntu. I hope this gets fixed

Can confirm on Hardy 32bit connection works for say 30 seconds , then drops.

I can confirm the same. I have an IP in network manager, but can only ping the router or google.com for about 10 seconds.

In Gutsy Gibbon it's work.
Instead, in Hardy, I confirm the problem that the connection is unstable and it works only for a few seconds (but in network manager seems ok).
My usb dongle is the real v2 of WG111--> 0846:6a00 NetGear, Inc. WG111 WiFi (v2)
The driver, even for gutsy and for hardy are the same, rtl8187.

Mystery...

Partially solved.
Also for Ubuntu Gutsy and now in Hardy, if I assign the ip manually the connection works perfectly and isn't instable.
Instead if the ip is assigned via dhcp the connection don't works or works but only for a few seconds.
**Probabily** it's a problem related with Network Manager...

I know that with wicd as a network manager the wifi connection is usable.
So I have added the network-manager as a package that is affected.
