Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

This is reproducible for me:
1) Open Google Mail
2) Open Google Documents in a new tab (by middle-clicking the link)
3) While Google Documents loads, close the Google Mail tab

It doesn't only happen with those sites though, but that is the way I found to reproduce it.

Firefox 3b5 with Hardy. All updates applied.

Thank you for the bug report. Could you please install firefox-dbg (these are the firefox debugging symbols) and try to obtain a backtrace (or crash report) by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs
This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

It is of particular interest that you run apport-retrace -d against your crash report before uploading.

Which flash package do you have installed?
Which Java package do you have installed?
Which video player and version do you have installed?

bad luck; we couldn't get a good backtrace from your crash report. If you ever get a crash again, dont hesitate to file a new bug.

This has stopped since I enabled hardy-proposed and got firefox rc1. I'm not sure if it's firefox rc1 that stopped it or the update to compiz but either way I am unable to reproduce this now. Will file a new bug if it happens again but I'm pretty sure this is fixed now. Thanks all.
