Anagramarama causes video weirdness

Expected behavior: Anagramarama will play nice with my computer. It will not cause issues with my display.

Actual Result: Upon starting the anagramarama application the video goes blank. It comes back, but if the application is left open, when my screensaver comes on, the LCD flickers badly. This does not happen when anagramarama is not left open.

I did not notice this issue before the purchase of the LCD, however, the upgrade to hardy and the purchase of the lcd were on the same day.

I am using Hardy Heron - recently updated from Gutsy
I have an ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB DDR2, PCI Express Video Card
I am using the fglrx proprietary ATI accelerated graphics driver that came with hardy
I have a Samsung 245BW Lcd screen
