also on Jaunty: powertop reveals Xorg wakeups a lot only while on gdm screen

Boot ubuntu, go to a ctrl+alt+f1 and run powertop. See how Xorg is firing about 20~30 wakeups. But it's only showing the gdm login screen. Totally evil.

Since it's been a very long time since any additional info was added to this bug, I'm just checking to see if this is still an issue, and find out what additional work should be done on this bug.

Running powertop shows no wake from X for me, running Jaunty:
ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.6.0-0ubuntu7 Xorg X server - core server

You could retest on your hardware with latest Jaunty to make sure the issue still happens there with the latest code. ISO images are available at http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ - if you can reproduce it in the LiveCD environment, you shouldn't need to modify your installed system. Also please attach a fresh Xorg.0.log from this testing.

If we have no feedback from you, we will probably close the bug.

Yes, I can confirm this on Jaunty.

powertop reports 24,8 (guess it is a means) wakeups by 10 secs for:
Xorg : schedule_hrtimeout_range (hrtimer_wakeup)
