Bug Description
hi. I hope this is the proper way to submit a questiojn. I do not see any way to start a new thread. If I am out of line here, please pardon me and direct me to the correct place. Thanks.
I installed unbuntu 8.04 on my eMachine 5230 (nVidia MOBO for AMD64) and i am trying to get a netgear wg111T wireless usb adapter to work. i installed ndiswrapper successfully along with the graphic interface for it. however after installing the drivers in ndiswrapper, ndiswrapper shows the hardware as present, but the network manager does not see it.
I have spent the last three days researching the Ubunto and Netgear sites and found many manual and GUI methods of installing the drivers, all of which fail to show up in the network manager. One paper said that both netgear drivers need to be installed by ndiswrapper but still no joy.
Checking the system logs, ndiswrapper complains that the drivers are 32 bit on a 64 bit machine. But Netgear does not make any 64 bit drivers for the WG111T. The logs follow below.
I believe I have done due diligence before asking a lot of dumb questions so if anyone has anything to offer, I sure would appreciate it.
