Bug Description

When pausing the song Rhythmbox is playing for watching a video, for instance on YouTube or a comparable website, it is not possible to continue the song after closing the website again.
Sometimes Rhythmbox even crashes.

The bug is reproducable, I am using Ubuntu 8.04.

I know that this is not enough information for you to backtrace the bug, but I think it must be mentioned because it happens to me everyday and is a major let down in the using experience. Feel free to ask me for any information you need!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Additionally, it is possible when having Rythmbox running with a paused song to lose all sound in Firefox 3. Flash video remains functional, but there is no sound. I am also using Ubuntu 8.04

Today I discovered that songs in Rhythmbox pause whenever I navigate away from a youtube page using StumbleUpon. Closing or navigating away from websites containing video seems to affect songs playing in Rhythmbox. Audio in other areas remains unaffected.
