Bug Description

Binary package hint: gconf-editor

This might be a bug in 8.04.

After installation, I go to gconf-editor Then apps >> Nautilus >> Desktop
and check the Trash, Computer, Home, Network and Volumes Visible icons.

The icons do not appear on the desktop even after a restart.

Another Ubuntu member suggested using gTweakUI and that worked. gTweakUI is only a front end for gconf-editor, so the latter should also have worked.

Thank you.
