Theora playback staggery and out of sync

Bug Description

Nearly every theora file I've got starts okay, but the audio slowly gets behind
and the video starts to pause then run rapidly for a moment, then pause, then
run rapidly, etc, as if it displays all the progessive frames in quick
succession then waits till the right time to show the next intra-coded frame
(except that it probably isn't the right time - as it's out of sync with the
audio by a second or more when this starts happening).

It seems to do it on all theora+vorbis streams. I can certainly confirm it
happens on streams produced by very recent svn reference encoder.

Thanks for your bug. What sinks from the media-selector do you use? Do you have
any URL to a such example?

I can no longer reproduce this bug, I don't know what has changed. I will open a
new bug with more detail if it regresses.
Some of my theora videos no longer play in totem, but I could have some invalid
streams.

have you moved from esd to alsa by example. I'm closing the bug since it's
fixed. Feel free to reopen it if you get the issue again
