Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

Totem crashes both in the web based totem-mozilla interface and external interface while trying to play the following interview:

http://svt.se/content/1/c8/01/03/47/57/DEB-2008-0124-LOMBORGWEBB.asx

The external program freeze and gives the following output in the terminal before becoming non-responsive:
"sh: jackd: not found"
The web interface crashes completely, leaving a gray spot in Firefox.

My system is 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, updates as of Saturday, May 10th 2008, 4.40 AM. This includes the latest versions of both totem and totem-mozilla (2.20.0-0ubuntu3 Gutsy).

Xine based totem work perfectly (I have an Eee PC with totem-xine). This regards only totem-gstreamer.
It might be a problem with gstreamer as well. I don't understand why everybody rely on gstreamer which works awfully on my computer. xine works perfectly.

This is sooo not happening :(
It's been crashing all week and when I to get a backtrace, it just won't crash. It just freeze like the totem core program. I will try later when the computer has been running for a while. It had been the day before yesterday when I reported the bug.

Ok, it crashes again, but I need help on the backtrace. It crashes the moment the movie clip is loaded and there's no way I can be able to obtain process ID, startup gdb attach totem to gdb and then continue the program in a time space of 1 second
