X restarts when i use ctrl-f in mozilla firefox

Bug Description

I am using hardy and mozilla 3.0b5

Most of the times i use the ctrl-f (find) function in firefox after typing to or three letters X restarts without warning

Also, please answer these questions:
Is this crash reproducible? If so, which are the steps that lead to it?
Which flash package do you have installed?
Which Java package do you have installed?
Which Firefox extensions do you have installed?

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

/var/crash says: total 0

since upgrading to the official hardy release i no longer get crash reports so i have manually reported this bug.

This crash is reproducible
On any page in firefox type ctrl-f and enter a search query in the search field. on an average of 6 out of 10 times x will restart without prior notice.

Installed flash package: Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124
Installed Java packege: Java(TM)plugin 1.6.0_06-b02
Installed Firefox extensions: Gmail Notifier 0.6.3.2
                                             Stumble Upon 3.18
                                             Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 0.5

not reproducible. most likely was a xorg driver issue with your graphics card.
