black screen after login (kubuntu kde4)

Login screen is displayed ok but after i type password and login i get black screen with mouse pointer.
Pressing Alt-Tab shows me kwalletmanager opened - maybe it's the problem?
Ctrl+Alt+F1 takes me to the console and Alt+F7 takes me back to black screen with mouse pointer...

I am the same problem in a notebook(ACER),but the problem not appears until 3-4 reinitializations.
After 3 reinstalations with diferents disk-partitions ??? the problem are the same

Me ha ocurrido lo mismo en un portatil ACER,pero me ocurre tras 3-4 reinicializac¡iones,no en laqs 2 primeras???
He reinstalado 3 veces con diferentes particionamientos y se repite el problema.

Edit the file ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc and replace

[Composting]

Enabled=true

with

[Composting]

Enabled=false

And its work

 mgm1954 thanks for advice, but my kwinrc file was empty

after all i just had to rm -rf ~/.kde* - after that everything went fine

I had the same problem, black screen with cursor after login in kdm.
Solution: I had deinstalled dragon player, which deinstalled kubuntu-desktop.

By reinstalling (apt-get install kubuntu-dektop), I saw I had 2 other missings packages to install: kdebase-workspace, plasma-desktop. After that, everything went smooth, without deleting .kde folder ;)
