Please provide us with a simple step-by-step testcase on how to
reproduce. Use a format like.

 1. do this
 2. do that
Expected Result: this is what i would expect to happen
Result: this is what actually happens.

Thanks!

I'll try, but can't you see there is something wrong with the Firefox window in the screenshot?

As for reproducing, I am impotent under pressure, but in case I meet the bug again some time, how can I attach the session to this report? What other data could be relevant? As general hint to reproduce, I suggest to open lots of tabs and windows, then reboot and let Firefox open windows automatically, then check all windows to see if they display properly.

I am not sure if relevant, but I use an external monitor with notebook. I also have a startup script that adjusts monitor resolution by xrandr. I'll have to confirm, if the issue happens with the notebook's own monitor.

When I quit and start Firefox (that is configured to show windows and tabs from last time) the windows may be drawn correctly, even if they weren't in the previous session.

We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Yes it is with 8.10 sometimes, different hardware that is a workstation, no custom xrandr command in startup script.
