Bug Description

during boot hotplug takes a while. first noticed this a few days ago on an

On single user boot, a bunch of device descriptor/8 - error 110 error messages
pop up.

It seems to work, tho.
dmesg log coming up.

That means it timed out ...

I'd check the cable to your USB 2.0 hub/device, it's probably not quite plugged
in correctly or perhaps dodgy.

problem seems to have gone away since I plugged in my cardreader on the one open
usb port.
Weird stuff.

Almost definitely hardware related, it looks like your hardware can't actually
support USB 2.0 properly -- maybe due to defective cable or parts. Note that
this can happen if you plug a USB 2.0 device into a USB 1.0 hub, or similar.

You could try adding ehci_hcd to /etc/hotplug/blacklist -- this would disable
any USB 2.0 devices while stilling allowing your 1.0 devices (which are
lower-speed) to function properly.

Please re-open if you really think this is a software problem, but I don't see
any evidence for that.
