Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Somtimes pidgin has suddenly a complete freez. The pidgin window will went dark and it doesn't work anymore.
After killing the process and restarting pidgin, only a gray window will appear.
Instead of the pidgin icon, there will be a double sized free space in the notification area.

When I start pidgin with --debug, this are the latest entry's:

[....]
(14:07:43) oscar: Adding handler for 0001/000a

and then it does nothing until I press ctrl-C. 192.168.1.254 is my internet-gateway.

I'm using latest ubuntu hardy with all updates, that mean pidgin in version 2.4.1-1ubuntu2.
After I restart the computer, it's working again.

The problem became more and more annoying. In the meantime I figured out that it must be a problem between pidgin and orbit.
I took two screen shots.
The first one shows pidgin in the "suddenly freez" state: http://kev.knet.eu/bugs/launchpad-227714/pidgin-freez.png
For the second one, I killed the pidgin process and started pidgin again, I did this with strace to see what's the last thingt pidgin is doing before the freeze.
Above the red line you see some kind of causation, an orbit file, I don't know what it is for: http://kev.knet.eu/bugs/launchpad-227714/pidgin-freez-strace.png
After I kill pidgin again and delete this file pidgin will work again until some time, than it freeze again, I have to start it with strace then to delete this file and then I can use pidgin again for some time...and so on.
The file is always another hex number this time it was: "/tmp/orbit-kevin/linc-1b73-0-41a1e7cac072a",

I hope this may help for debugging. If you need more information, please ask, I really wan't to help debugging, because I like pidgin and want to use it in a normal way...
Thanks a lot.
