Bug Description

Binary package hint: eclipse

To reproduce this issue:

1. Install sun-java6-jdk, eclipse, and tomcat5.5 on Ubuntu 8.04.
2. Run Eclipse. Via the help menu, install the "Web and J2EE Development" plugins and their depedencies.
3. Create a new "Dynamic web project". Configure Tomcat 5.5 as the target runtime (specifying /usr/share/tomcat5.5 as the installation directory).

During the creation of the project, Eclipse throws an SWT error and recommends closing the workspace. Restarting Eclipse causes the same SWT error to be thrown again immediately, unless you rm -rf the new project directory from the workspace.

The problem appears to have to do with creating a browser instance in order to display an EULA which has to be agreed to in order to cache http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd. There are other cases where EULAs are properly displayed, and other cases where browsers are successfully invoked, so I do not know why this particular case throws an error. I am attaching a stack trace.

eclipse package version: 3.2.2-5ubuntu2
tomcat5.5 package version: 5.5.25-ubuntu1

Hi

Could you please try and reproduce this in the new eclipse? If it still exists, try to see if openjdk-6 instead of sun-java fixes it.

Thank you in advance,
~Niels
