Bug Description

Issue: OpenOffice.org 2.4.0 DicOOo 1.8 Window size is insufficient.
Open office requires a dictionary be installed using it's wizard.
File --> Wizards --> Install New Dictionaries --> Choose "English" --> Click "Start DicOOo"
The following screen is supposed to open showing DicOOo 's first screen allowing the user to choose the language and click next; however, the window that is created is too small and renders only some of the text and does not allow the user to navigate.
Screen capture: http://kvark.kss.si/%7Emarjan/DicOOo_ubuntu_710_OOo_230.png

Resolution: Disable Visual Effects. System --> Preferences --> Appearance --> Visual Effects --> None.

Conclusion: We have a bug.

Believing this was an Open Office Issue, I went there first and found this explanation:

I'm confirming this issue.

The same workaround can be achieved via terminal. Run terminal and type:

metacity --replace

Install missing dictionaries in OO and then go back to terminal (if the metacity --replace is still running, then press ctrl+c to stop it) and type:

compiz --replace

Confirming this issue, interestingly, the exact same issue is happening with OOoLatex latest. See here: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1962107&group_id=150801&atid=778931
