Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Sometimes Firefox start using the hard disk heavily for a long time, various minutes. This makes the pc slow and almost usable. I've checked the memory and I have enough. SWAP is not being used. I thought that maybe could be the Track's daemon or the updatedb daemon, but I've checked the disk access with the atop tool, and it indicates that Firefox is the process which is accessing the hard disk the most.

I've found this forum topic indicating the same problem:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=761370

I'm using Ubuntu Hardy updated to May 6th 2008
