Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Tried it 4 or 5 times, deleting packages along the way (firefox-2, apache2, mysql, vmware, etc) - I attach the requested files from /var/log/dist-update/ from the last attempt. All attempts failed at the same step (see Summary).

- any suggestions on how to successfully upgrade would be welcome.

Thanks for your bugreport.

This looks like bug #157763 - could you please enable the "dapper-proposed" repository in your sources.list can check if the ugprade can be calculated with that?

Problem was solved by uninstalling nfs-common.

I took a closer look at apt.log and saw that nfs-common was causing some kind of circular dependency problem. Since I don't use nfs, I removed it. The upgrade is now proceeding with file downloading.

Sorry, I didn't get to try dapper-proposed.
