I just had the same error connecting to MSN. If i retry I also get network error.

i want to share more info

if i log into msn from pidgin - when the empathy client tries to log in - it logs pidgin out..

so it must somehow establish a connection with the msn servers but then some problem start up..

just hope it helps,
i want to use empathy cos it jives well with the new guest-applet on the gnome-panel.
