Bug Description

Binary package hint: lightning-extension

Using Ubuntu 8.04, Thunderbird 2.0.012 with lightning-extension from Ubuntu repository. I tried to import a .csv file for Calander entries using the import funktion from lightning's calender register tab. After that lightning is unusable, need to purge and reinstall the lightning-extension. Test with manual entries which were exported to Privat.csv and reimported in the same way show the same behaviour.
What am I doing wrong ??

What version of lightning are you using to reproduce this bug? If 0.7
can you please try the 0.8 build we have in Mozilolteam PPA and see if
you can take exact steps and try to reproduce it, Can you please give us
step by step instructions on how to reproduce this as well.

Hallo, thanks for responding so fast.
Yes, Ubuntu 8.04 uses still Version 0.7.....
What did I exactly
1. install lightning-extension and lightning-extension-locale-de
2. open thunderbird, then lightning, change to the monthly view
3. create an test date, export them via "Kalender"=> "Kalender exportieren"
4. Change Format from .html to "oulook schema (.csv)" and export,
5. check Privat.csv file via "vi" all extrys seems ok
6. delete the test entry in Lightning
7. Close Thunderbird, reopen it, goto Calender, choose import, via
outlook (.csv), choose file, press open
8. the window closes, but absolutly nothing seem to happen, no extrys
imported into Lightning
9. test it under windows XP with latest Thunderbird Version and all
updates for the addons,
     same behaviour as Linux Version
May be that I am doing it the wrong way, but .csv is actually the only
way to stay synchronized with my Smart Phone.

I tried to update to 0.8, but this Add-on is incompatible with the
thunderbird-build 64 bit gcc3......so I think I have to wait until the
the Add-on works........ :-(

The version we have in Mozilla PPA is built for 64bit arch so it should
work without a problem. please try the following link
