No puedo navegar por wifi

Bug Description
Anteriormente utilizaba gutsy 7.10 para mi laptop HP pavilion dv6420la (amd64).
No me podía navegar con mi dispositivo wifi (03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11a/b/g (rev 02)
), por lo que para navegar tenía que utilizar ndiswrapper y configurarlo según:
- agregaba la línea blacklist bcm43xx al archivo /etc/modprobe.
- Luego modprobe -r bcm43xx
- Después instalo el controlador del windows xp haciendo: ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5.inf
- Luego: ndiswrapper -m
- Después: modprobe ndiswrapper
- Después agrego al archivo /etc/default/
- Finalmente agrego la línea ndiswrapper al archivo /etc/modules
Con esto, conseguía navegar por mi wifi, pero ahora no me resulta.
Creo que las nuevas versiones incluyen lo bueno y mejoran aún más las versiones anteriores, pero al parecer este no es el caso para las broadcom.
Si alguien sabe cómo puedo hacerlo y lo puede publicar se lo agradecería.
