Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

my system: Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Haeron + Firefox 3.0b5

what happened:
When I close a popup window, all instances of firefox close. It happens when I exit firefox and then restore my opened tabs. That also opened popup window, which by closing causes described closing of main window and all tabs.

what I expected to happen:
When I close opened popup window I expect main firefox window to stay opened.

Does this still happen? Is there a particular web page which triggers this bug? Does the popup contain flash?

Sometimes pages on www.tagesanzeiger.ch somehow manage to circumvent the pop-up-blocker and show a flash video in a pop-up. When closing the pop-up firefox crashes. The problem is that I can't reliably reproduce it.

Rolf,
I would rather you not assign your self to bugs you dont plan on fixing. At one time the bugs team had wanted people to do this while asking questions ect. They have since dropped that due to it being too confusing to developers.
The above was changed end of last year as i recall.

Changed in firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu):

John, I think this practice makes a lot of sense for bugs nobody is working on yet and I intend to continue doing this because it fits my workflow (and thus eventually benefits Ubuntu the most). I don't see how this could throw anybody off.
