hxplay.bin crashed with SIGSEGV

Binary package hint: helix-player

When I restarted my system after upgrading to Hardy Heron, after logging in I got an error about helix-player. I'm not sure what caused it, as I didn't do anything after logging in - the 'an application has crashed' message box came up and I followed the link to Launchpad.
