Bug Description

Hi,
I don't know if I'm on the good "bug package" ?

after upgrade, when reboot on kernel 2.6.24-16, I've error message (only) in console and ubuntu does'nt run.
This is what I note before having the last line of th message (initramfs):
************************
root (hd0,1)
File system ....etc..
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-generic root=UUID=8af97a30-c932-443d-b29d-3cb52733f7fd ro quiet splash locale=Fr-FR
init-rd /boot/initrd.img-2-6-24-16 generic
[linux-Initrd @ 0x5f898000, x757c23 bytes]
loading please wait ....
check root=bootorg cat /proc/cmdline or missing modules, devices: cat /proc/modules ls /dev
Alert /dev/disk/by-uuid/8af97a30-c932-443d-b29d-3cb52733f7fd does not exist. Dropping to a shell
...
(initramfs)
****************************
I think (but I'm not a linux expert ;) ) configuration (uuid, fstab, menu.lst ) look good (?) and join them with this post.

All kernel files sound be in the /boot.

Heron works (with bugs I'd already before with Gibbon: soundcard, wifi with atheros, camera don't work ) with starting my old kernel 2.6.22-14 in grub.

My computer is a Asus A7USeries with AMD Turion TL56 in dualboot windows vista.

I've upgraded two anothers PC (another Asus F3Eseries (intel Core Duo Centrino and a tower with Asus Card and AMD Athlon Dual Core ) without any problem )

Thanks a lot by advance

Hi,
You aren't in the right project, it should be the grub or the kernel.
Your configuration seems correct, try to replace the uuid in the root parameter in the kernel line by the devic, i.e. root=/dev/sda2.

Best Regard
Tomé Vardasca.
