Bug Description

I use a usb optical mouse, with Breezy preview release. Sometimes, hotplug
won't detect my mouse correctly, so when I get to the GDM screen, my mouse
doesn't work. If i switch to a virtual console, login, and do 'sudo
/etc/init.d/hotplug stop' and then 'sudo /etc/init.d/hotplug start' it gets
detected correctly. Sometimes, though, when I do 'sudo /etc/init.d/hotplug
stop' my box hangs, that is I cant switch consoles ore anything. Is there a fix
for this?

Almost certainly a dup of 12915 which was fixed since preview ... could you
update to the latest breezy (Colony 5) and try with that.

Thanks,

Sorry this is my first ever bug but her it goes.

After upgrading from Hoary Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.10-4-386, to Hoary Ubuntu, kernel
2.6.10-5-386
I have experienced the same problem, My mouse sometimes will not be detected
during boot up, only
thing is that I'm not in breezy. After fooling around for a few hours I found
that If I were
to move my mouse during the startup process (I have a optical Mouse so even
hitting the desk
could set it off) the mouse dies just before the login screen pops up. but it
works every time
that I startup and do not move the mouse. So I am thinking that it has something
to do with
receiving input from the mouse while it is being initialized.

I am not sure if this is related to this bug or not or if i should of started a
new bug report
but anyway this is it.
