Bug Description
Binary package hint: openoffice.org-core
I have an original Writer document, carefully preserved without modifications. I have two different review copies modified by my reviewers.
In either case, Edit/Changes/Merge Document pops up a dialog that says, simple, 'Could not merge documents'.
1) This error message is woefully uninformative. What's the problem? Does it think I modified the original? Is it a new moon tonight? What?
2) It should have worked, since the 'original' is taken from my sent mail archive, and so can't possibly have been modified in parallel.
Help/About says: 2:2.4.0-3ubuntu6

I can confirm this. The documents I used (original.odt, new.odt) are attached. I tried merging the two from original.odt and from new.odt. Same error.
