Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

I installed flashplugin-nonfree, and about:plugins reports the correct version of the flash plugin (9.0.124). However, some pages (e.g. http://www.5min.com/) refuses to display flash content.

Then I discovered that an old (9.0.31) version of the plugin was installed in both .firefox/plugins and .mozilla/plugins. When I removed that old version, everything works fine.

My guess is that, although firefox reports the system-wide version of the plugins, it actually uses the personal version (which makes sense). That would then be a display bug in about:plugin.

release: Hardy
firefox: 3.0~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu3
flashplugin-nonfree: 9.0.124.0ubuntu2

Thank you for your bugreport. Since this seems to be an issue with
version 3 of the firefox browser, I'm reassigning the package.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I'm now using Intrepid, and the bug seems to have disappeared:
I installed an old version of flash under ~/.mozilla/plugins, and the correct version (i.e. the older one) shows in about:plugins.
