Bug Description

Hello,

Here is a little bug (I think) I found with Ubuntu Hardy, either on a Dell D820 and D830. Maybe it is a bug on all computers or not, I can't say. It is very simple. To reproduce it, follow those few instructions:

- Add the graphical system monitoring to your launch bar (I don't know the exact word in english sorry), to see in real time the graphical use of your processor.
- Usually, the graphic will be "empty" (no processor use) when your computer is idle.
- Now open the monitor (click on it), and you will see the processor being more and more used (the 2 processors on a core 2 duo), until it reaches about 80% of charge without any reason. Moreover, if you have a look to the task list, none of them are using the processor...

I hope you understood me ;-)

Regards.

If indeed a bug, doesn't appear to be Dell specific, so please mark against the appropriate Ubuntu package if you wish to track.

As I said, I can't know if dell specific or not, I only have dell computers laptop.

About the involved package, I really can't help you, I really don't know, I'm not a linux specialist, I just know what is the bug and how to reproduce it as described above, I'm unfortunately not able to tell you more...

Changed in somerville:
status: New → Invalid
no longer affects: dell
