Symptoms:
dmesg output exact match of Bug #93573 in linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu)
Workaround:
Similar to those documented in Bug #93573 in linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu)
Download and recompile acx100_usb driver from http://
Recompile instructions from http://
# cd /usr/src
# mkdir acx-20080210
# wget http://
# tar xjvf acx-20080210.
# cd acx-20080210
# make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build M=`pwd`
# make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build M=`pwd` modules_install
By default, the acx driver searches for firmware named "tiacx100usbc0D" in /lib/firmware, so do the following to link to the available firmware
# cd /lib/firmware
# ln -s `uname -r`/acx/
Reboot and test. iwconfig output should now be correct!

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?
If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.
