Bug Description
Binary package hint: eject
I'm using Kubuntu 8.04.
What happens: When I right click on the desktop icon for a mounted USB device (media player or a USB stick, it happens with both) and select "safely remove" I get the "synchronizing data to disk, please wait" message (this is expected) but then I get an error message that says "Error: kio_media_
What I expected to happen: The data should be synchronized and the device unmounted with no error messages about not being able to eject device.
I did not get this error message when I was using 7.10.
I found this bug report from the Red Hat bugzilla site. It describes the problem very well. https:/
Please ask me what other information you need. Thanks!

Description: ejects CDs and operates CD-Changers under Linux
This little program will eject CD-ROMs (assuming your drive supports
the CDROMEJECT ioctl). It also allows setting the autoeject feature.
.
On supported ATAPI/IDE multi-disc CD-ROM changers, it allows changing
the active disc.
You can also use eject to properly disconnect external mass-storage
devices like digital cameras or portable music players.
