Pidgin doesn't open firefox for mail

I think I see what's going on here. The 'Open All Messages' button works, but 'Open Mail' does not. This is because the 'Open Mail' action expects one item of the above treeview to be selected. Selecting an email and clicking 'Open Mail' works, but otherwise there is no response.
This isn't terribly discoverable - perhaps a start would be to make the dialog default to having the top email selected.
