segfault error 6, and trap divide error

Bug Description

Xgl (with gnome, on vidia 8600 gt on nvidia's binary drivers)
crashes quite often when doing different stuff.

Also sometimes programs seem to crash because of X problem (but usually the entire X server crashed and restarted)

btw, Im on ubuntu 8.04 amd64

The bug is 100% reproducible when I try to view in current firefox (3.05b) the long page with pidgin flame (from slashdot)

each time I open: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/4986#comment:272
with firefox, my xserver crashes and restarts.

All happend with firefox open - ironically to ubuntu page "http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Gutsy#What_to_do_if_Ubuntu_freezes"

Just happened today for first time, 3 times in a row. Seems OK since starting to post this. I keep saving the msg in a file though.

Also noticed my clock panel applet time is frozen at 3:37:46 - pic attached in case any relationship.

Similar problem here, only happens occasionally, started today (haven't added any software / done any updates recently).

X crashes completely, screen blacks out, have to login again. Happens when I access some rather large dev. page (can't show it) in FireFox 3.0 (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061017 Firefox/3.0), but also consistently on the page mentioned in the post above this one:
"http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Gutsy#What_to_do_if_Ubuntu_freezes"

Relevant bit from /var/log/syslog:

xserver-xgl has been deprecated upstream, and removed from Intrepid. Closing the bug as won't fix.
