Bug Description

Ubuntu 8.04 (xubuntu) on dell Inspiron 700m. When my Lexar 512MB SD Card is installed in the laptop's socket, the boot procedure does not finish. I don't know how to capture the screen dump at this point - I'd take a photo but the SD card in question is from my camera - catch-22! I recall it's something about a timeout and hald. The system freezes - i.e. not even the shift-lock indicator works any more. Removing the Sd card and powercycling brings the machine back up. Inserting the card after boot causes no problems, and it can be read (I haven't tried writing to it).

I had a similar issue with my mp3 player. Has this been fixed for you?
