[hardy] nm-applet displays wireless icon even though wireless is disabled

Bug Description

I disabled wireless days ago (right click and untick Enable Wireless). And even after a reboot or two, nm-applet continues to show the wireless signal strength icon instead of the wired icon.

This is a problem in Karmic, although in this case, there's no wireless hardware at all in the system. (it's a VirtualBox VM)
